You can use this pathway if:
- you want to do fencing work
- your neighbour wants to do fencing work.
Your neighbour is:
- the person who owns the adjoining property
- the business or company that owns the adjoining property
- the tenant – if they have a lease of five years or more at the time you want the fencing work done.
A dividing fence can be a structure, ditch, embankment, hedge or another barrier that separates neighbouring properties. It is usually on the common
between two properties.
Fencing work can include:
- the design, construction, replacement, repair or maintenance of all or part of the dividing fence
- surveying or preparing the land on either side of the boundary for the dividing fence
- trimming, lopping or removing vegetation for the purpose of preparing land for fencing work.
